China-UK Vocational Skills and Education Exchange Seminar was successfully held in Wujin, Changzhou

In order to implement the consensus of the Sino-British industry ministerial dialogue, promote the Sino-British Modern Industrial Partnership (ICP), and strengthen Sino-British cooperation in cultivating talents in green industry,"China-Europe Low Carbon Conversation--the Sino-British Vocational Skills and Education Exchange Seminar" was successfully held in Changzhou Wujin supported by the International Economic and Technical Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (hereinafter referred to as "Center"), the British Department of Commerce and Trade, and Wujin Green Building Industry Cluster Demonstration Zone Management Committee from October 30 to 31. Li Yikai, Deputy Director of the International Economic and Technical Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Shi Ruiyao, Deputy Trade Envoy of the British Department of Commerce and Trade, Minister Counselor of the British Consulate General in Shanghai, and relevant leaders of Wujin Green Development District, Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province attended the event and delivered speeches.

Li Yikai said that China and the UK are both major economies in the world, and the connections and cooperation between the two countries are increasing. Along with the deeper industrial exchanges, vocational education, as an important way to cultivate skilled talents, should be discussed, planned and promoted in advance. Vocational skills and education cooperation will promote deeper and more substantial industrial exchanges, and industrial cooperation will encourage the upgrading of vocational education cooperation. There is huge room for cooperation between China and the UK in vocational education and training. The China-EU Low Carbon Academy, established with the support of the center, serves as a platform to connect universities, institutions and enterprises. It will not only cultivate innovative, comprehensive and applied international talents in the China-EU green industry, but also provide strong support for Sino-UK vocational education cooperation.

More than 30 people including representatives from relevant government departments, industry organizations, industrial parks and enterprises in China and the UK participated in this exchange seminar. After the meeting, the British delegation went to Jiangsu Green Building Expo Park, China-Europe HVAC Talent Innovation Port, and Changzhou Engineering Vocational and Technical College for on-site research.

During the event, Wujin Green Building District signed a letter of intent for cooperation with representatives of British institutions and enterprises, aiming to promote cooperation on talent training, curriculum development and related research in sustainable construction, service industry, e-commerce, engineering and other future-oriented skills.
