On October 19, 2023, Jin Zhuanglong, Minister of Industry and Information Technology, met with Apple CEO Cook in Beijing. They exchanged views on Apple’s development in China, cooperation of industrial and supply chains and other issues.

Jin Zhuanglong said that China supports the building of an open world economy, will comprehensively lift restrictions on foreign investment access in China’s manufacturing sector, and expand market access for digital products and other markets. It is hoped that Apple will continue to take root and invest in China, further improve the level of cooperation with China, and actively participate in China’s new industrialization process, thus achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.

Cook said that Apple is ready to proactively participate in the high-quality development of China’s economy, continue to promote its green manufacturing and smart manufacturing, keep enriching the developer ecosystems, and share common development with industry and supply chains partners.

The heads of relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology attended the meeting.
