Silk Road and BRICS Cross-border E-commerce Industry Strategic Alliance Agreement Signed and Xiamen Initiative Launched

The Opening Ceremony of the 2022 China (Xiamen) International Cross-border E-commerce EXPO and the Cross-border E-commerce Industry Development Summit were held on November 10th in Xiamen. After the Signing Ceremony of the Silk Road and BRICS Cross-border E-commerce Industry Strategic Alliance, Xiamen Initiative was launched.

China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guizhou, Xiamen, Chongqing, Jinan, Harbin, Zhangzhou, Longyan, Sanming, Tongchuan, Nan’an and Shishi Committees, Kazakhstan-China International Industrial New City in Kazakhstan East Gate Special Economic Zone, China Overseas Development Association, Xiamen Xiangyu Construction Group Co., Ltd. and Xiamen City University signed the agreement to join the Alliance.

In order to gather all strength to promote the development of the cross-border e-commerce industry among the Silk Road and BRICS countries, and facilitate the Belt and Road and BRICS+ cooperation, CCPIT and CCOIC Xiamen Committee initiated the Silk Road and BRICS Cross-border E-commerce Industry Strategic Alliance.

To further promote the healthy development of the Alliance and allow it to play a more active role in promoting exchanges and in-depth cooperation among the Silk Road and BRICS countries, all members of the Alliance launched the Xiamen Initiative of the Silk Road and BRICS Cross-border E-commerce Industry Strategic Alliance on the same day.

All members of the Alliance propose that enterprises seize the critical time of industrial transformation and upgrading, harness cross-border e-commerce, a new format of foreign trade, to transform and upgrade, and share the dividend of digital economy; and that all parties to the Alliance further integrate resources, be fully connected to the Silk Road and BRICS countries and other economic belts around the world, promote matchmaking and negotiations on projects between e-commerce enterprises in the regions where the members of the Alliance are located and the cross-border e-commerce industries of the Silk Road and BRICS countries, and jointly seek Silk Road Cross-border E-commerce and actively promote BRICS+ cooperation.

The initiative emphasizes that with the joint efforts of all parties, a new platform for exchanges and cooperation will be built in active areas of cross-border e-commerce to jointly promote the integration of high-quality resources in cross-border e-commerce, connect the supply and demand channels of cross-border e-commerce talents, and provide new channels for promoting the sustainable development of cross-border e-commerce.

Ke Biru, Chair of CCPIT Xiamen Committee, read out the Initiative on behalf of all members of the Alliance. She said that more organizations are welcome to join the Initiative. Following the principle of promoting cross-border e-commerce exchanges among the Silk Road and BRICS countries, the Alliance will advance industrial development, horizontal cooperation among members and vertical cooperation between the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, and promote the synergy and development of cross-border e-commerce industry in various fields to pool strength for win-win cooperation.
